HOW TO ‘IMPROVE YOUR LIFE’ IN YOUR LUNCH BREAK.

I’m so excited to be writing this post and sharing with you all because I truly believe that in my 23-year career in Australia, forming meaningful lunch-break habits made all the difference. Here are 3 smart things you can do during your lunch breaks to get closer to your professional goals:
1) UPSKILL – Think about which new skills you need for your career development and begin working on upgrading them. Check with your managerand see if you can do short online courses or shadow another employee from a different department whose skills you’d like to learn.
2) START BUILDING A STRATEGIC NETWORK – We all know that getting ahead is not always about what you know, but who you know. Instead of having lunch with the same 1 or 2 people every single day, suggest lunch or coffee with others from the company whom you’d like as part of your professional network.
3) MEDITATE – I found this to be a great way to re-frame my thoughts and come back to my desk with greater clarity of mind. Just 5 or 10 minutes of being alone with your thoughts can give you greater perspective on how best to handle the rest of the day.
So, these then were the 3 ways in which lunch breaks helped me get closer to my goals. Have a great lunch break today 🙂
